Abstract
Our idea is to bring the concept of renewable energy closer to everyday’s life and to show that there is a way to do something meaningful while entertaining. To do that we will use a process called piezoelectric effect – converting mechanical energy into electrical. In other words we want to use pressure to create electricity. The piezoelectric effect can be achieved with special materials (such as quartz), which can be embedded into a thin film called piezoelectric carpet. We want to make colorful footsteps out of such carpet and locate it in places where there is a large number of people passing through or there are jumping and dancing. When they step on these footsteps they will apply pressure on the piezoelectric carpet with their weight and this way they will produce energy. Possible places for implementation of our idea are metro stations, entrances of schools, shopping centers, huge sports facilities, busy squares or sidewalks, family games. We believe that our idea will attract more attention to environmental friendly ways to generate energy and will provide the knowledge of science in a simple and fun way so that everyone could be interested. We think it will contribute for a better future. Is not that the meaning of FUN + MEANING2 = 2030.

The idea you are presenting in this solution is very interesting, and I believe it will be welcomed by people, especially by youth. The fun and meaning components are balanced in your solution, it’s great!

The concept (of generating electricity with walking/dancing) has been used earlier.....but you have inbuilt fun and learning nicely -:)
I also like your presentation

Great work guys.. well done.
It would be immensely beneficial is such initiatives can transform the energy we spend in our daily life, into usable clean electricity.
and hey, I think the dance floor of a popular disco club is another potential application area for such an idea..... it'll draw even more people to the dance floor as well !

One of my friend would agree to be the sponsor of your project if he had money)
I like it. just imagine if u have something like that in a very crowded crossroads like in Tokyo or Japan...so much electricity per day.
