Abstract
My idea wants to change the way we perceive a public space by allowing the inhabitants to get involved in the creation and decoration of the space. The cold and repetitive spaces arranged by the authorities will be replaced by spaces designed and thought by the people living there. In this way, those spaces will reflect the needs of the inhabitants and their vision about life, fashion, etc. The catalyst of this involvement would be some specialized persons in the reuse and recycling of the objects the inhabitants used and don't need any more. The specialized persons, with the involvement of the inhabitants of course, will hold workshops on how to transform their trash in an urban sculpture/object, in street furniture or in toys for the children. All the resultant objects will be displayed and arranged in the neighbourhood public space. In this way we enhance the inner designer ambitions of the residents and we encourage the people from other neighbourhoods, cities, countries to come and see, use and even buy the objects. Because of the short life of the exposed recycled objects, the involvement of the inhabitants will have a continuity in time (they will always create or transform recycled objects that will respond to their current needs) and the appearance of the space will always change (the needs of the inhabitants will influence the objects they create). Using the objects people don't need, giving them a new life and meaning for the inhabitants is the sustainable objective of the project. Also, the fun part of the project is the involvement of both children and parents in the creation of new recycled objects. The opportunity is to change the way we see our used objects that we now consider them as trash and to develop the meaning one finds in an object, the creativity, the imagination and the development of a person. The workshops about recycling and creating objects will also have a big impact in social bonding, recreating the sense of community and allowing a better interaction within the community, the family etc. One can spend beautiful moments with his family in the exterior space of his home, creating new objects or just enjoying, playing with the ones they created.

Am actually not a big fan of wastage, I love that you're focused at transforming what seems like waste to something useful.
Its more like you're making sense out of nonsense.
Great idea. Looking forward to seeing more of it.

Great idea! I'd thought of this too at a recent competition here in India where we needed to find an alternative use for trash...involving the community seems to be the best option..
this idea has my support:)
