Abstract
We have created a family board game called IMPACT in which players discover through play the possibility of solving the environmental crisis. Play is one of the most effective tools for enabling both behavior change, and experiential learning. Playing IMPACT, sparks empathy, motivation, and comprehensive understanding: the key qualities the next generation so urgently needs. Along with designing this game, we have researched and created an innovative business plan and am well on my way to brining this game to the world. Accomplishments so far… 1 internship at an award winning game company 12 month design process 6 versions of IMPACT 250+ play-testers 100+ testing sessions 6 to 60 year old play-testers 5 play sessions with schools & camps $10,000 investment, plus and additional $10,000 investment offer 70 person facebook feedback group. 1 publishing deal 1 corporation set up 1 interview on national radio 5 branding consultants providing strategy and design

Abstract
My idea is to create games that make it fun and easy to gain an empathetic understanding of how to solve global environmental problems. Imagine if when we reach the year 2030 we have an entire global generation who understands the world’s environmental challenges, and is positively committed to supporting the required change. My hope is that IMPACT and the subsequent games and material can play a major role in helping this reality unfold.
