National Geographic Traveler magazine recognizes this year's leaders in sustainable tourism
The United Nations 70th General Assembly has designated 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.
"With more than one billion international tourists now traveling the world each year, tourism has become a powerful and transformative force that is making a genuine difference in the lives of millions of people," has also stated United Nations Secretary-General, Banki-moon.
In this context, Slovenia scored a mind-blowing 96 out of 100 detailed sustainability indicators (think in terms of the environment, climate, culture, nature, biodiversity etc), making it count as the most sustainable country.
