Home-grown is an idea that will never die

by Stefan Alijevikj on 3rd May, 2015 at 6:02 PM CEST

Aside it’s tastier, home-grown will also save you some little money, and will for sure open up a new meaningful task for you at home. Home-grown food is an idea we have talked a lot at C:F, and this is simply a kind reminder, a new TIP or WEEKLY HOT TOPIC to don’t be shy but see where you will go with your gardening skills. You don’t have to have the green thumb, it will come to you naturally.

I have changed several apartments since I have moved from my hometown to Skopje. In none of them I had the opportunity to plant something. I moved to new place with little yard and little place for planting just in September 2014. At first, I didn’t pay attention of what can be done with this little place in the yard as most of the surface was covered stones, but then my roommate started playing around. He planted some vegetables just for fun and they grew once it was spring. Today the yard has strawberries, rosemary, mint, garlic (and you will rarely visit the doctor for antibiotics), small peach tree, onion, other vegetables, some beautiful flowers… it's small, but it's tasty and meaningful:

The first strawberry:)

When was the last time you had the chance to plant something and when was the first time you have done this?
