C:F Summit is ON FIRE!

by C:F Team on 25th September, 2013 at 8:35 AM CEST

Day #4 and Day #5 of Challenge:Future Summit 2013! Competition mood is FULLY ON! Atmosphere: exciting, intensive, dynamic! Day #4 was all about the Global Jumpstart meeting the Start:Up Maribor's local challenges! It was excellent! The whole action took place at Out of the Box/Challenge:Future Youth Forum.

10 finalist teams pitched their ideas at the Youth Forum. Only one team won! From winning ideas of the 21st century to projects that create jobs, business growth and social prosperity in Maribor. That was what this was all about! And for implementing those ideas what you need is good leadership skills. Exactly Hayley Lapalme held a morning session on the general topic of leaderships and made the intro of day #4 at the CF Summit.

The winning team at the Global Jumpstart was team #10 working on social cases or one of the Ziva Dvorisca Teams, accepting the challenge on coming up with fresh ideas for Maribor's Living Courtyards.

"The courtyards of Maribor used to be a centre of community and culture but over the past decade they have been poorly used and untapped for its potential. Our idea is to start an Adopt-a-Courtyard campaign where the people of Maribor - students, families, businessmen and cultural professionals come together to define a new cultural identity for Maribor. Essentially students will talk to the residents, understand their interests and then work together to transform their courtyards through community garden, art work, sharing events etc which are to bring back the vibrancy in each courtyard," describes Siddharth Rajgopalan from the winners' team on their idea.

On Day #5 the summit moved from Maribor to Ljubljana. Competitors of Future of Work competition presented their ideas at the A.T.Kearney office in Ljubljana. This competetion focused on Eastern Europe as the region is caught between more developed West and more efficient East. It needs to develop its advantage in knowledge and innovation around selected industries to face the international competition.

338 teams applied for The Future of Work competition from which 4 best cases were selected as finalists. The 338 teams included 487 competitors from 21 countries. The finalists precisely come from Bulgaria, Montenegro, Ukraine and Hungary. Only 1 of them can be the winner. We will find out today!

Furthermore, Ljubljana hosted another event within the C:F Summit 2013, The CF Business Forum!

The CF Business Forum offered amazing time for crowd innovation time for business. The forum was moderated by Matej Golob, President of TEDxLjubljana and Nadya Zhexembayeva, C:F Vice President. The participants were again on fire, brainstorming, coming up with ideas and pitches in less then an hour. They worked in group of 5-7 to discuss what you can do with 1 billion EUR to create the most positive impact in Slovenia in less than 5 years!

In the evening, the summit participants from Ljubljana travelled back to Bled!
