Green On!

by Hina Hazrat on 17th May, 2012 at 8:14 PM CEST

We can not refute the significance of green plants on this planet. Without oxygen we cannot live for a moment even. Without oxygen, the animal world will die. Plants make the oxygen and spread it in the air. While inhaling air, we take the oxygen with it and live in life. Carbon dioxide makes our environment venomous. The plants take in carbon dioxide, hence they make the surrounding atmosphere clean thus lessening the greenhouse effect, which is now a days prevailing global environmental issue.

Green plants are the unsung heroes of our milieu. They add worth to your home, help cool your home and neighborhood, shatter the cold winds to lower your heating costs, and grant food for life.

Greenery will improve air quality; leaves sift the air we breathe by removing dust and other particles. Rain then washes the pollutants to the ground. Green plants are aesthetically pleasing, reduce heat along with carbon dioxide impact, reduce summer AC cost, reduce winter heat demand, reduce nitrogen pollution in rain, neutralize acid rain effect, reduce noise, reduce storm water run off and provide habitat for the fine-looking song birds.

Plants help us unwind and focus, leading to amplified productivity, creativity, idea generation, and problem solving capabilities. They’ve been verified to reduce anxiety and stress so well that one fleeting look at a plant lowers your heart rate. In addition to calming your heart rate, plants lower blood pressure and trim down muscle tension related to stress. In fact, the presence of plants helps so much that it has been shown to mitigate the symptoms of various health related problems, such as ADD- which is experienced by children.

It is indispensable to understand that every individual is pivotal in bringing changes towards environmental issues and it is everyone’s individual responsibility to protect our planet.

After making our area green, we all have accepted our citizenship in this green world because we are out of harm’s way only when our environment is safe and sound.

Great Thoughts Hina.I really appreciate it. I definitely agree to the points you made in your article. With the development across the globe happening at a pace where probably the notion that our Earth is getting damaged has taken a huge hit. The situation of our ecosystem is getting disturbed with every passing day. Our progress is happening at the cost of this fragile environment which needs immediate attention and care. Protecting the nature is the most important task for all of us by taking every tangible step so that collective actions will reap its results for tomorrow. We have to ensure the protection of trees and every component of this ecosystem so that we can have safe and prosperous future for everyone. Its our responsibility to understand and act to understand the importance of green plants that helps us breathe. Indeed, protecting the green is the only solution.
