Are you the 99% ?

by C:F Team on 20th October, 2011 at 11:24 AM CEST

The world is shrinking, bustling with diverse people, but we all are in one voice saying the same thing - taking action against the greed and the corruption of the 1%. Hence, the movement Occupy Wall Street was launched.

According to the Occupy Wall Street website:

“Occupy Wall Street is a people-powered movement that began on September 17, 2011 in Liberty Square in Manhattan’s Financial District, and has spread to over 100 cities in the United States and actions in over 1,500 cities globally. #OWS is fighting back against the corrosive power of major banks and multinational corporations over the democratic process, and the role of Wall Street in creating an economic collapse that has caused the greatest recession in generations.”

Here are some interesting links that will spur you into action: we are the 99%, Occupy Together and Parents for Occupy Wall Street.

Dearest C:F Members, we want to hear from you! Anything going on in your country? What do you think we can do and learn from the actions of the 99% as well as the 1%?

interesting initiative... unfortunately in the Dominican Rep. such kind of gatherings do not longer exist after the prevalence of a dictatorial government that lasted more than 60 years... in this side, people (generalized) just rely on the superpower of the 1%+ the government... which in essence is not good... but... it has become a cultural and spread behavior... Schade!!!

Yes India is shaking with anti corruption movement by Anna Hazare and team.

Let me share that, me, Jatin, Reena and few friends decided to support the movement by silent stand up at the road side. on the first day, we were about 7. to stand up silently at the road side for one hour was really very positive experience for me. day by day people join us for the good cause. and on the third day we were more than 70.

Unfortunately now a days, the whole event followed by big political drama, but one thing is for sure, that now we can feel the change and we are ready for the change.

Thanks to CF for giving this opportunity.

Still there is a long way... but yea working and working can be better ........

I sometimes still ponder that is action bringing the better future? I swear that being responsible must see where action would take... because at the end of the day no one is going to judge us from our intentions but from results

True... there is still along way but the most important thing is taking a step and then with time you see the desired results.

Moreover there is no harm in trying in what you believe in and this is what C: F is all about... taking the right action in what you believe in, no matter the odds.

Well, as it is, In my country corruption and political intimidation has become something people din with day in day out. We have become so used to it that the idea of standing or fighting against it will be an odd. (Not that we don't try in our own little ways but all effort is most times if not all the time rendered null and void)

Although there are several anti corruption groups but to me, they are just like 'a thief catching thief' ain't they both thieves?. We can't fight it (not that we don't want to) but we are some worth religious so, we leave matter in the hand of the divine being who is the CREATOR OF ALL BUT CREATED BY NONE.

I urge everyone who can and has one way or the other been able to fight or stand their ground to count it a privilege to be able to stand up for what you believe in.

Thanks for these idealogy.

The movement just received a major boost in the U.S. because Occupy Oakland protestors were attacked by Oakland Police department, for what seems like no logical reason. Videos have proven that unnecessary force was used.
