C:F at UNESCO Youth Forum in Paris

by C:F Team on 14th October, 2011 at 1:25 AM CEST

We are very proud to share with you that Challenge: Future, with the support of Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO, will be represented at the 7th UNESCO Youth Forum, taking place on October 17-20 in Paris!

The theme of the Forum, “How youth drive change”, strongly resonates with the Challenge:Future mission and objectives of inspiring youth to take active role in their societies and environments. Through concrete examples, the 7th Youth Forum will examine the different ways in which youth constructively contribute towards building a culture of peace, supporting good governance and promoting economic opportunity: through their participation in governance or in public affairs; through volunteerism and social entrepreneurship. Thus, the youth strengthen their soft skills and generate benefits for the entire community; through a responsible use of the internet to network, learn, share information, involve and sensitize different groups.

Challenge:Future will be featured during the Youth Expo, where participants will be able to learn more about what we do through their interaction with Olga Veligurska, C:F Vice President Alliances; Damla Aktan, C:F Chapters Network Vice President; and Jan Ramovs, President of C:F Chapter at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, who is also the official UNESCO youth delegate representing Slovenia.

We will also have a chance to present Challenge:Future in one of the parallel sessions - “Education, Social Transformation and Sustainable Development” on October 19. And of course, to meet many prominent speakers, change makers, and youth from all over the world. More updates and insights from the Youth Forum will follow soon!

Is there any message we, as C:F Community, should present at the UNESCO Youth Forum? Please share your ideas below and your message might be delivered around the world! And don’t forget to follow the UNESCO Youth Forum 2011 on Twitter @unescoNOW #UNESCOYOUTH!

Hmmm very nice and goodluck to our representatives.

My message is that Youths driving for a change should have a passion for it and stick by it no matter the odds.
