Fun Secrets of Virtual Intern

by Jude Roxas on 10th October, 2011 at 9:33 AM CEST

Note from the C:F Team: We decided to nudge Jude, our very first C:F Virtual Intern on what made him tick during this 3 months virtual internship with us! And he tell us all...

1. 5 things you never knew before a C:F Virtual Intern

1. Timezones (CEST and PST)
2. Some of the C:F Staffs are also working in their respective countries (yes! this is how flexible and amazing the staffs are. I really thought that they are all in Bled at first).
3. Skype calls are fun :) (At first, I am really scared with Skype meetings but after hearing their voices, it made me feel comfortable and made me feel that we are just one seat apart. Oh how i love that feeling)
4. My work limits.
5. The things that I can with deeper responsibilities

2. 5 New Things you learnt by being a C:F Virtual Intern

1. One of the most important times of your week is the time when you plan your tasks.
2. Distance will never be a hindrance for our success and productivity.
3. When you understand, act. When in doubt, ask.
4. Starting the connection between the team members is a great way to be more open with them.
5. We should know our work limits and inform the rest.
Bonus: Fun and work can work hand in hand. Remember that. ;)

3. What is the culture/feeling/flexibility of being a C:F Virtual Intern

Like what I’ve said before, I consider my internship as one of my life’s sweetest blessings. Through here, I became more close to the whole CF Community and I gained SO MANY friends. As the CF Apprentice, I usually get secret messages from the community members through their own virtual owls *giggles*. They usually ask me how is my Internship experience so far, and telling me things about “Hey Jude! Do good and we’re just here for you”. I just love how they put so much support for each one of us. And the most special thing here is the support I am getting from my family, who taught me so much about life. I thank them for molding my character especially in cooperating to many people for a good cause.

4. What were your challenges and how did you overcome them or get help?

Time management and personal matters are some of the challenges I met during my time. I will be honest that I came to the point where I almost put ALL my time in my virtual internship and setting aside the things in school. I know I was wrong because I failed to set my priorities, but that eventually changed the way I set things in order and I am very much happy that it happened, with proper guidance from the others and a part of realization for myself.

5. How wazzit really going beyond the boundaries of physical world where you connected with everyone

I am already much connected with the virtual world ever since I became an active member in With 2 of my virtual families, dA and CF gave me so much meaning in my online moments. What I love the most with this is the fact that I have the chance to be connected with lots of people, celebrating diversities at it’s best because CF is also a living testimony about that goes so well with one of my basic foundation of Philosophy in my life, "We are not different from each other. We are just diverse" and I want to celebrate diversity more with you all, starting now up until my last breath. Hoping to meet you all one day.

6. What was it about CF that made you want to stay?

Inspiration, diversity and the community :)

Note from the C:F Staff: We thank you Jude! We truly had so much fun with you despite the distance :) We decided to use one of your own art to say thanks to all the laughters, art and joy you have brought to the entire C:F Community as a C:F Virtual Intern.

Are you the next C:F Virtual Intern to kindle the spirit of Challenge:Future? Then apply and be part of the C:F Community to lead and have meaningful fun!
