Understand every TOW and WHT

by Jude Christoper Roxas on 10th May, 2011 at 3:43 AM CEST

As members of the CF Community, everyone is expected to take part in knowing the stuffs that the whole community is offering to us.

We are a community who seek collaboration and cooperation not just to build the whole world as a whole, but primarily, to give importance to every thing that our individual selves is doing for a big cause.

And so, as the Action Team Leader for the CF Writers for this term, allow me to guide you while we indulge ourselves with the significance of every Tip of the Week and Weekly Hot Topic that we are writing and together with the things that you can do to make it more effective.

Understanding TOWs

TOW or Tip of the Week is a weekly write up usually published every Tuesday of the week. It is a collection of tips that play around with the topics regarding technology, health, practicality, social involvement, green education and other things that we believe necessary and worth sharing to the community. The writers of the TOW are always doing some researches to ensure the credibility of the tips that we are preparing for you. Some published TOWs were based from personal experiences and others may be inspired from other tips that we already know, but only one thing is for sure, that what we are doing is actually with our beliefs that it will always bring light to all of you.

What can you do to make TOWs more effective?

As a member of the Action Team, I am encouraging you to not just let the published and soon to be published TOWs stay as a published article but rather, execute it slowly but surely invite the members of your own community to do the same thing as it will create ripples of change that will surely bring forth new knowledge for some people. And also, we would like to remind all of you that no matter big or small the tips are, but with proper execution the tips will help us strengthen our lives. Don’t forget to drop a comment with our articles too.

Understanding WHTs

WHT or Weekly Hot Topic is a weekly article usually published every Thursday of the week. It is an article that allows every member of the community to speak out their opinions with the trending topics circling the world between politics, religion, environment, culture and beliefs and other topics under the sun. The writers of the WHTs first introduce the issue as a new topic, thus giving us an overview as to what is really happening and then later on, ends the article with a question that will start the discussion for the community.

What can you do to make WHTs more effective?

Read and comment- these are just two things they will give life to the articles that we are making for the whole community. We are here to practice freedom of writing and speech and as part of the community, we are entitled to take part in every discussion, share our thoughts and concerns and let others know about our opinions. But let us not forget that we are not here to start a debate but we are here to start a conversation, where we still build respect, ideals and strengthen up our values. And last but not the least, listen to what others are saying because it is only through that were we can have a more effective conversation.

An Invitation: Contribute to the Members’ Story

If you are not part of the Action Team Writers but wishes to contribute an article for the CF Community to read, then fear not because we also have the Member’s Story section in our platform! Share your experiences and we will all listen to all of you. If you have questions, just send us an message found on our profiles and the staffs and the Acton Team Members will surely take part in answering your queries.

And so to end this article, let me just ask you with a question – How is the performance of the Action Team Writers so far?

We want to hear that thing from you because we try to be as effective writers as possible. Don’t forget to drop a comment here ;)

Love from Jude and Action Team #2

Not too effective because you do not bring out your write up on time. It takes a day or two before something new comes up on the buzz section. But thumbs up, you all are wonderful.

@Kedei: Thanks so much for your feedback Kedei :)

TOWs are scheduled on Tuesdays-Wednesday, while WHTs are scheduled on Thursday-Friday. Maybe that's why if takes a "day or 2"... if i'm missing anything do let us know - i'm sure the C:F writers are so eager to learn and re-learn!

thanks Kedei :) but the effectiveness of a team is not purely based on 'when' they publish the articles. let's also consider more important stuffs first but i have to admit that publication is indeed part of the integral match.

actually, all of us here do not share the same timezones and sometimes, artilcles are published every Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on where a particular member lives. but one thing is certain that we post our articles during the most convenient time of our staffs there at the CF Office, but still they are posting it on schedule.

and i have to admit that all of us have been really busy irl, so i kinda mislead the group with regards to our time management. i thank you for bringing this up again and i will surely take an action for this. thank you :)

Awesome Idea. This definitely puts the community in line to the frequency where they can appreciate the importance or value of the WHT and TOW. I would suggest putting this in a video format that can be shared here and via our social media platforms.
