by C:F Team on 15th April, 2011 at 2:36 PM CEST

Life is full of challenges. Why not take the chance and participate in another C:F Quick Challenge?

After two weeks of ideas, interviews, inspirational people and lots of votes for the best teams, the First Round has ended. Now, judges all around the world are debating to choose the ideas that will go to the Semi-Finals of the Challenge:Future Competition, and we might already have a guess which are the teams that got the most votes. Excited to know if your team made it to the next round? Just a few days left: the big announcement of all semifinalists will be made on April 20, 2011 at 6 PM CEST

Our “Uncorrupted World” Challenge, organized in cooperation with United Nations PRME and GRLI has just ended. We got many entries and many ideas how to get rid of corruption and make it history. The UN experts will now have a hard time to choose the winner but all in all they’ll get valuable insights and maybe some of your ideas will be included in future UN policies. Congrats for making the difference! The Winner of an all-expenses-paid experience and free participation at the PRME Summit in Brussels as well as the ones who’ll receive the book “United Nations Global Compact - Achievements, Trends and Challenges”, The Future Book, and invitations to the C:F Summit 2012 will be announced on May 3, 2011. So keep a close eye on this date!

Now, we have a new special mission for you: Baikal Water Bank Challenge, organized in cooperation with Baikal International Business School!

Situated in south-east Siberia, Russia, Lake Baikal is the oldest and deepest lake in the world that contains 20% of the world's total unfrozen freshwater reserve. Being one of the UNESCO World Legacy, Lake Baikal has produced one of the world’s richest and most unusual freshwater faunas, which is of exceptional value to evolutionary science. For 25 million years Baikal has been a unique self-regenerating and self-refining ecosystem, keeping its water pure. But what will happen next?

How can we protect and preserve this unique ecosystem and its resources, while at the same time using it for the benefit of the world? What business models for wise and efficient use of this ecosystem can be developed without endangering it? What can we learn from Baikal and apply to other regions and freshwater resources?

Check out Mission Baikal: Protect and preserve! challenge. Develop your own strategies and win great prizes. Are you up for the challenge?

I live right here, on the Lake Baikal))) I live in Irkutsk, half an hour from Baikal. It is too important for me to keep it clean and safe. Every year I go to baikal with tent. I see how polluted the beaches are becoming. We should stop it. Seriously. Guys, I hope we'll do our best to develop solution!

Yeah! This should be an exciting challenge. Lake Baikal is definitely one of the most important pieces of relatively untouched nature we still have.

This Quick Challenge it´s a real topic to stop and think in what ideas will be great to keep this ecosystem as well it´s now. I strongly believe that this lake not only preserves fresh water but also gives us a bit of faith in human being. which awesome :-)
