Introducing Action Team #1

by C:F Team on 3rd December, 2010 at 2:50 PM CEST

The very first Action Team is right here!

Let's welcome Shweta, Nubi, Jude, Jatin (Action Team Leader) and Kritika! We are very happy to have such a diverse group of C:F members coming together to create thoughtful and reflective pieces of writings for our community!

Introducing our C:F Writers

Jude is an artist and his art is very much familiar with many of us. His passion tags include arts, books, literature, communications! He says "I am into arts but it is through my words that will make my arts more alive and meaningful." We are surely looking forward to that Jude!

Shweta's passion tags include Listening to songs, working creatively, Friends. She strongly believes that friendship is the way to end all wars in our world. Now, did we say that in C:F friendship we go global with friends from all over the world!

Kritika has already set us thinking by wanting to know: what is an ideal gift for you? Her passion tags include reading, driving, listening music. Do quiz her more to find out on how you can create a "personal bank account" to take account of your habits!

Nubi is a C:F musician with a knack for songs and guitar! His passion tags include colours, youth, impact, art, technology. He has also set us into thinking: Is technology making us more stupid or clever?

Jatin is the Action Team Leader! His passion tags include people, Connect, Heart, Life, Reason of existence. We are sure he can lead you into a philosophical conversation with all things intuition, insight and life! Ask him!

The Next Step

They will intensively work on our C:F Community writing pieces such as the Weekly Hot Topics and the Tip of the Week all in a bid to curl the brains of our C:F Community!

Congrats to all 5 of them for taking up this challenge for the next 3 months! And to start them off, share with us:

What kind of topics would you like to see the Action Team #1 tackle?

Topics should be such that there can be a possible practical approach on that. Because only words cannot change the world. Corresponding Actions are also needed.

Oh i love the combinations of this Action Team with artists, musicians and philosophers! :)

If possible i would love to read touching/ inspiring stories related to the arts, musics and life that happen in our daily life/from past history at different corner of the world and how each of them plays a role in our life :) Reading these stories could enlighten and lead me towards different thinking, very often we also learn a lot through a discussion too :) I would love to learn more other than my small window which i can only see engineering world ;P

Furthermore, i love philosophical conversation as well, sometimes we do face harsh moments in our life and there might be no suitable person around us to talk to, so perhaps by sharing the story here i could get good advices and insights :)

I hope to see this team to create a warm and intimate corner for the C:F community to gather and share their own story and thoughts to encourage each other to face challenges out there ...

Cheers! Action Team #1!!

Hi Everyone! I am sorry that I have not been active for quite some time now due to existing commitments. Am really happy to see that C:f has become bigger and better. As far as the topic is concerned, according to me, Wikileaks and its implications must be discussed and how it may become a watershed development as far as transparency is concerned. It has great ramifications from good to bad and what should be the legitimate limits of expose.

Also I second that there should be a mix of topics including practical ideas, philosophy and inspiring stories/lessons.

Another fascinating topic in my mind is---------->>> BEAUTY BIAS
Long time back ago I read a paper on this topic which highlighted how good looks lead to better salary, job, faster promotion, etc, with non-linear correlation with IQ level.

Hey guys, very helpful suggestions. I'm sure the Writers Action Team will do great as you all are bright minds with a huge potential waiting to be dicovered. Let it free! And of course, nothing can be done without the help of community. A big thanks for that. Keep your suggestions coming!

I'd second Yen Ching but would suggest that we go in a slightly different direction. Perhaps articles related to social development/ aid organizations with interviews highlighting the problems that they face on the ground/ in their daily operations? This would be good fodder for thought. Also, we could have articles highlighting the stuff that we don't normally see that much of in the news. I guess most people will know about Israel and Palestine, but how many people are aware of/ care about Africa's internally displaced people and stuff like that?
