On Friday, Oct 1, 2010, C:F had the great opportunity to attend the Autumn Gathering of Managers Association of Slovenia and listen to Dr. Edward de Bono speak about "Lateral Thinking for Out-of-Boundary Ideas". Since C:F aims to foster creativity and innovation, it is only natural that the C:F team should strive to be an innovative bunch. And who else to better inspire out-of-boundary creativity and elevate problem-solving skills than the great inventor of the Six Thinking Hats, Dr. De Bono himself?

C:F team, including Metka, Tanja, Dan and Maggie, engaged in interesting thinking exercises conducted by Dr. De Bono using Random Word and the Six Thinking Hats methods. Everyone was delighted to see how different provocative operations provided in the exercises shifted the usual mental perceptions. One very interesting detail that stood out during the encounter with Dr. De Bono was that he was wearing bright red socks (see the picture above) which is not much unlike the color on the cover of The Future Book! Creative minds think alike? Maybe so!
At the end of the presentation, C:F crew approached Dr. De Bono and presented him with a copy of The Future Book. We also invited Dr. De Bono to be our Advisory Board member for the next year. As we wait for his reply, we cannot help but feel excited about the impact his guidance can be for the C:F team. In the meanwhile, we will utilize his thinking methods to contribute to a even more creative and meaningful C:F 2011.
