Dear semi-finalists, here are a few changes in this round of voting:
- There are no negative votes in this round. To vote, first click on "Vote now!" besides the team name, and then click on "Yes, I like it" if you want to give your vote to the team. You can only vote for the same team once.
- The number of votes your team has received is displayed in your project room underneath your solution description, like this picture below:

- We modified the C:F registration process so everyone can vote for your solution. (There is no age limit anymore.) So if you want to invite all your friends and family to vote for you, you are more than welcomed to do so.

Good question, Ryan. Here is the break down:
- First of all, the community votes count as 20% of your final grade;
- For different challenges, the judges' grades and the challenger(company)'s grade weigh differently:
IdeaaLab: 50% challenger & 30% expert judges
IEDC: 50% challenger & 30% expert judges
Breakthrough Ideas: 80% expert judges
So regardless of the different weights, the combination of challenger and judges' grades makes up for 80% of your final solution score.
Note that expert judges are a combination of business, academic and science experts. They are carefully assigned to each team according to their background and expertise.
I hope this clears your question :) If you have other questions, feel free to email us at info@challengefuture.org

I have a question about voting: My 3 friends told me that they registered and voted for us yesterday, but the number of community votes on our profile did not change. Why?

It might take a while for the counter to update and display the right number of votes, but I can assure you we're saving all votes as they happen.
Perhaps your friends can make sure that they voted correctly by making sure they don't have the option to vote on your solution anymore or by checking if they have a green "Voted" button next to your solution in the list of solutions.
Hope that helps!

Hi CF Team,
Sorry for being a bit lost. I read that for the finals, it will be a combination of the number of votes, judge's decisions and company votes. Is the final score evenly split among these 3 categories?
Thanks! =)
