Semi-finals Start Today

by C:F Team on 18th January, 2010 at 4:59 PM CEST

This is the announcement that everyone has been waiting for:

All semi-final teams can start competing today (Jan 18th) at 8:00pm CEST!

The Official List of Semi-Finalist Teams

The official list of semi-finalist teams can be found here: http://www.challengefuture.org/challenges/1st_round_winners

Please check your team's name carefully on this list to make sure you are indeed a semi-finalist. Last week, C:F had to remove four teams from the originally established semi-finalist list due to eligibility issues. These 4 teams are replaced by the teams that were next in line by the same qualifying criteria (either by community, judges or overall ranking). We also let eight additional teams advance into the semi-finals by (green card) invitations from semi-final challengers, who saw potentially interesting ideas from these teams.
These eight teams are:
- Team of BCE
- Hero
- Umedia
- Aether Storm
- Legume
- Media Forecast
- Team One
- Paradigm

Our sincerest congratulations go out to everyone who participated in the first round, especially those who have advanced into the semi-finals!

New challenge recommendations

Teams that are competing in the semi-finals will receive the recommendation in which challenge they should continue in the competition today, Jan 18th. However, you will be able to contact us within 72 hours (three days) to switch to another challenge. All such applications will be considered by the judging panel on 22nd of January. The exchange is possible as long as each challenge has a minimum of 40 competing teams. The team with a higher judging grade will have priority during the exchange.

Submitting solutions

In this round, your full solution will be reviewed by judges and you will also have to submit a short video or presentation for community voting. As you probably already know, you will find more details about the challenges in your team's project room. Team creators can start posting solutions on Jan 25th when the solution form opens in their project rooms. The deadline for submitting solutions in this round is Feb 15th, 2010 at 5PM CET. No solution will be visible to the public before voting starts.

Not in the semi-finals?

And don't worry if your team didn't make it into the semi-finals. You can still participate in our Quick Challenges and Weekly Hot Topic discussions!

You will be able to submit the detailed proposal through a solution form, similar to what you had in the first round. Team creators should see the option to submit the new solution from tomorrow in the project room, so you'll be able to see the new form very soon! :)
