so this thread is for the final rules right? :)

well i have this stuffs in mind :)

one of the ideas that me and Damjan thought a while ago is through the use of Post it Notes. :)

what we can do is to write some words of encouragement to Japan and take a snapshot of it and let's upload it in Flickr. with this, we need to make a flickr group where everyone needs to send their pictures there and we can all digital paste everything and to form a collage

and another thing, all chapter presidents will then collect the Post it notes and maybe we can send it to CF HQ. :)

well, that's just one of our ideas a while ago. i want to hear others' side as well :D

this is a comment from my friend outside CF:

"well, you know, in the midst of an impending nuclear meltdown and quakes/aftershocks still ongoing, I think its too early(insensitive?) for happiness. Support/Hope art maybe?"

so what do you guys think?

sounds great!!

How about taking snapshots of words/shapes like "Love" "Hope" etc around us (Eg. Advertisement board, newspaper, magazine, or write one) and post them in flickr? This will be much more simple by telling love and hope is all around the world for them who is in the darkness when they view the photos at a glance ... We have to tell them the whole world is with them to give them the encouragement to stay strong!

Japanese are hardworking people and there govt is working to best of their abilities
other than that government all across the world have already extended helping hands
with the worlds 4rth largest economy and support from the entire world govts funding should not be a problem either

What we can do is provide moral support to the japanese
a feeling of belonging, a feeling of universal brotherhood and unity :)
The least we can do is be cheerleaders for the people of japan when they start rebuilding their nation.

Everyone loves to read warm wishes we could compile as many wishes as we can for the Japanese people they may be in the form of simple comments
edited pics or any media the contributor intend to submit

and than create a very huge banner of all the collected wishes and sail from a very big building so that the entire world can see it
specially our brothers in japan
We are here We are with you
today and forever

Ok amended!
(1) There are 3 ways to submit your creation!
(2) And I created the flickr group as well :)
(3) Changed the name from Happiness Artists to "artists for Hope" is this name more suitable?

Mayank & Yen Ching! I assume you are in this action team as well ?? :):)

Okies. Tuning in with a bit of delay, was lunching :) I agree with you guys. Though, I would suggest to keep it simple and stick to limited media. That's why Jude and I come up with the idea of Post It notes. So that everyone has the same medium. What you draw, write etc. on it doesn't matter, as long as it gives hope and brings a bit of joy to people in need.

Also I strongly agree with you Mayank, what those people need the most is some positive energy, not necessarily funding or donations.

on the other hand, Damjan's point is also good. it's like with operationbeautiful.com where everyone is required to use post it notes and write something on it, as for our case, write hope messages for the people for japan.

the title is more suitable. thanks Sayanee.

but let's hear more people for this :D

Doesn't have to be post-its, can be also any piece of paper, cardboard whatever, also as Yen Ching suggested other media. But I would suggest to stick with something you draw or write. You can also cut it out and paste it and make a small collage. I would say not bigger than a post-it or not bigger than an A5 page.

And not to be to strict, we can say that your drawing/message should express hope, joy and positive energy needed for those in Japan. Otherwise we'd move towards dramatizing and sending generic hope messages - nothing against it, but we are here to bring joy back to their lives.

@Jude, yes, operationbeautiful was also on my mind ;)

@ Sayanee yup i am in the Action team this year :D

@ Damjan i think it will be a fine idea to get media cz it will spread the news and more people will join in
in sending Hope messages
Billion Messengers of Hope :)

we can also create Facebook sharable templates or something similar which people can share on there wall ( though this may probably dilute the strength of the message)

sharing tempaltes is a good idea too. but it would much be better if we will write and make our messages for them with our own style and creativity. after all, we can all use our passion to create something ;)

go go go guys! this is getting intense <3
